Artist Support Grant Opens for Applications
Through September 5, artists in any discipline are invited to apply for the 2023-24 Artist Support Grant. This year’s grantees will be awarded $500-$3,000 in categories including visual arts, literary arts, music, film, choreography, interdisciplinary arts, and more. This regional grant is open to residents of Buncombe, Haywood, Henderson, Polk, Rutherford, and Transylvania counties working as individuals or in small, unincorporated groups of collaborating artists.
Arts AVL Hosts Discussion of Thomas Wolfe Auditorium
ArtsAVL announces its first Town Hall of 2023-24, which will focus on the current state and possible futures of Thomas Wolfe Auditorium. The panel and discussion will be held on Monday, August 21 from 3-4:40 p.m. at Harrah’s Cherokee Center Asheville. The event is free and open to the public (registration required).
ArtsAVL Announces Arts Build Community Grant Awardees
Twenty Buncombe County organizations have been awarded Arts Build Community (ABC) grants from ArtsAVL. This year’s grants, which range from $1,000 to $2,500, will support programs and initiatives in areas including storytelling, Black history, musical theatre, arts programming for veterans, comedy, community arts and dance, creative placemaking, programming for queer and trans youths, and more.
