ARTS AVL POLICY
Membership Policy
We are building a supportive community for creatives living and working in the Asheville-Buncombe County area. Applicants not located or doing business in Western North Carolina are not eligible for membership.
ArtsAVL reserves the right to suspend or revoke membership, without refund of membership fees, for a breach of ArtsAVL policies or generally undesirable behavior as determined by ArtsAVL at its sole discretion.
Failure to pay your membership dues will result in your account being locked and all public information will no longer be visible until payment information can be updated and successfully processed.
Privacy Policy
Your privacy is very important to us. Accordingly, we have developed this Policy in order for you to understand how we collect, display, and use personal information.
- ArtsAVL does not store your personal credit card information. Payments are processed using secure Stripe software and subject to their privacy policy.
- Information you submit on your Directory Profile, Post Events and Share Opportunities tabs is intended for display on the public ArtsAVL website, unless marked for Admin Purposes Only.
- ArtsAVL will use your personal contact information to communicate with you on matters regarding your account and content related to the ArtsAVL site. You can adjust your communications preferences in the Account Preferences and Personal Setting tabs.
- ArtsAVL will never share or sell your information with any third parties for their marketing or advertising unless you give us or the third party permission to do so.
Content Policy
The ArtsAVL shall consider the posting of all content, with the exception of the prohibited content listed below.
- Primary location of event or opportunity outside of Buncombe County
- Profane language or content
- Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability or sexual orientation
- Explicit sexual content or links to sexual content
- Conduct or encouragement of illegal activity
- Content that violates a legal ownership interest of any other party
Image/ Video Policy
ArtsAVL provides users the opportunity to upload or email images to ArtsAVL for posting in connection with a directory profile, event post, and opportunity listing. Users are strictly prohibited from uploading any image in violation of any domestic or international copyright law. By uploading, or otherwise emailing, an image to ArtsAVL for posting on ArtsAVL.org, user represents that the material does not infringe any proprietary or intellectual property rights of any third-party, and that user has the authority to grant, and does hereby grant, to ArtsAVL a paid-up, royalty-free, non terminable license to use, display, copy and transfer the image for and in connection with the ArtsAVL site, and the promotion of the profile, event, or opportunity described by user in the submission form or email. ArtsAVL reserves the right to exclude information, images, or graphical content that it determines, in its discretion, to be inappropriate for posting or use for any reason.
ADVERTISING POLICY
This advertising policy provides guidance on what content is allowed to run through our ad platforms. We believe all ads should be high-quality, on-brand for us, and compliant with all local laws. The following ad policy has been created to promote a positive user experience for both our customers and our advertisers.
We retain the right to review and remove ads that do not comply with any of our policies.
All ads should comply with local and national laws.
Ad copy should be relevant, timely, and accurate. We prohibit the following for both digital and audio ads:
- Untimely messaging: Promotions should be consistent with current date/time and not expired.
- Inaccurate messaging: Ads should be honest and correct.
- Claims: Any claim you make must be substantiated, such as a specific deal or use of the words “new” and “best.”
- Merchant branding: Ads should not infringe upon our brand or trademarks. Your ad should have your logo or name in a prominent position.
We prohibit digital and audio ads promoting or condoning the following restricted content:
- Violence: We prohibit ads for weaponry of any kind. There will be no ads promoting products, services, or news related to violence.
- Substance abuse: We prohibit ads for alcohol or drugs.
- Sexual content: We prohibit ads for sexual services, websites, or practices, including sexually explicit images.
- Degrading/ discriminatory content: Ads should not promote racism, sexism, homophobia, eating disorders, transphobia, or hate speech of any kind.
- Illegal or harmful financial services.
- Non-certified medical products or services: All medical ads must be for legal and safe medical practices.
- Gambling: Gambling ads should only run in locations where gambling is legal.
- Political content: Ads should not endorse/oppose candidates, policies, or practices by governments.
- Religious content: We prohibit religious ads of any kind.
- False destinations: Users should arrive at the same landing page with your ad that your ad copy promotes.
- Profanity: Do not use or imply profanity or profane acronyms.
- Misinformation
