ART IS EVERYWHERE IN BUNCOMBE COUNTY.

LET US SHOW YOU THE WAY.

Whether you are an art enthusiast, a curious traveler, or a longtime resident, this guide is designed to help you connect with the artists, events, and spaces that make Buncombe County such a special place.

FOUR REGIONS. ENDLESS INSPIRATION.

Buncombe County’s creative spirit flows through every corner — from the heartbeat of Downtown Asheville to the soul of the River Arts District, the charm of Black Mountain, and the warmth of Weaverville.

ASHEVILLE

Downtown Asheville is a vibrant hub for the arts, offering a diverse range of creative expressions that reflect its eclectic and bohemian spirit. Galleries, murals, street art, live music, theatrical productions, film screenings. Together, these elements make Asheville a haven for art lovers and a celebration of creativity in all its forms.

RIVER ARTS DISTRICT

Asheville’s River Arts District (RAD) is a lively hub with over 350 artists, located along the banks of the French Broad River. Once a collection of industrial warehouses, the area has been transformed into a thriving community where you can find  painting, ceramics, sculpture, glassblowing, textiles, and woodworking.

BLACK MOUNTAIN

Known as the “Front Porch of Western North Carolina,” this charming town combines small-town warmth with a vibrant community spirit. Its walkable streets are lined with locally owned boutiques, art galleries, and artisan shops offering everything from handcrafted goods to unique gifts. Visitors can enjoy live music, cultural events, and workshops.

WEAVERVILLE

Weaverville, is a quaint and welcoming community just a short drive from Asheville, offering a perfect blend of small-town charm and cultural richness. The town celebrates its vibrant arts scene through events like the Weaverville Art Safari and Art in Autumn, which showcase the work of local artisans and craftspeople.
